Jamaat warns No oath without BNP’s participation in Reform Council
Bangla Press Desk: If the newly-elected Members of Parliament from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) do not take oath as members of the Constitution Reform Council, then members of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami will not take any oath, said the party’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Syed Abdullah Muhammad Taher to the media on Tuesday.
Taher said that the oath ceremony for their newly-elected MPs has been scheduled for 12:00 pm. They will attend the ceremony.
However, he added that if BNP does not take oath in the Constitution Reform Council, the newly-elected MPs from Jamaat will not take any oath at all, because they believe that a parliament without reforms is meaningless.
The newly-elected Members of Parliament from the 13th National Parliament Election took their oath at 10:40am on Tuesday.
