Bangla Press Desk: President Mohammed Shahabuddin has accepted the resignation letter of Justice Md Rezaul Hasan, a senior judge of the High Court Division.
A gazette notification signed by Law and Justice Division Secretary Liaquet Ali Molla on Monday, said Justice Rezaul Hasan has resigned from his office by submitting a signed letter to the president in accordance with clause (8) of Article 96 of the constitution.On 31 March, Justice Rezaul submitted his resignation letter to the chief justice, citing personal reasons. It was later forwarded to the president.
An investigation is currently underway against Justice Rezaul by the Supreme Judicial Council over corruption allegations.
Justice Rezaul Hasan was appointed as an additional judge of the High Court Division on 30 June 2009. He was sworn in as a permanent judge of the High Court Division on 6 June 2011.
