Khaleda offers fateha at Zia’s grave
The BNP chairperson visits late president’s grave and recites from the Holy Qur’an
Bangla Press Desk: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Wednesday night visited the grave of her late husband and BNP founder Ziaur Rahman at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital.
Her motorcade arrived at the mausoleum at around 11:00pm, said BNP Media Cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan.
Sitting in her car, she offered Fateha, prayers and munajat for the eternal peace of the departed soul of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, the party sources said.
Khaleda Zia was accompanied by family members, including the wife of her late younger brother, retired Major Sayeed Eskander, and the wife of her younger brother, Engineer Shamim Eskander.
Senior BNP leaders and associates were also present, including BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir; National Standing Committee member and personal physician Professor Dr AZM Zahid Hossain; personal physicians Professor Dr Shahabuddin Talukder, Professor Dr AFM Siddiqui and Professor Dr Jafar Ahmed; Chairperson’s Private Secretary ABM Abdus Sattar; Security Coordinator Brigadier General (Retd) Dr Shamsul Islam; BNP family convener Atiqur Rahman Rumman; BNP National Executive Committee member Belayet Hossain Mridha; Advocate Mehedul Islam and Press Wing official Shamsuddin Didar, among others.
