Middle East crisis: Five more flights cancelled at Ctg airport
Bangla Press Desk: Five more flights were cancelled at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram on Sunday amid rising regional tensions following US-Israeli strikes on Iran.
With this, a total of 167 international flights at the airport have been cancelled since 28 February due to the unrest in the Middle East, Airport Public Relations Officer Engineer Mohammad Ibrahim Khalil said. According to a press bulletin, five cancelled flights included an arrival of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, one arrival and one departure of US-Bangla Airlines, and one arrival and one departure of AirArabia.
The sudden flight cancellations have left migrant workers and Middle East-bound passengers frustrated and anxious.
However, six arrival and six departure flights from and to the Middle East operated as per the schedule.
Ibrahim Khalil said the schedules of upcoming flights depend on the airspace and security situation in the Middle East.
Passengers have been advised to regularly check with their respective airlines or the airport helpdesk for updates regarding their flights, he added.
