Minister Embarks on Maiden Saudi Visit After Taking Office
Bangla Press Desk: Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Houssain (Kaikobad) left for Saudi Arabia to attend the Umrah and Visit Forum, marking his first official foreign tour since taking charge of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
He departed this afternoon from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight bound for Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah, said a press release.The visit is being made at the invitation of Saudi Minister for Hajj and Umrah Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah to attend the third Umrah and Visit Forum. The event is scheduled to be held from 30 March to 1 April at the King Salman International Convention Center in Madinah.
The forum has been organised by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah with the aim of improving services for Umrah pilgrims and facilitating a greater number of pilgrims and visitors in performing their religious obligations.
The event will be held under the patronage and in the presence of Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, governor of the Madinah Region.
During the visit, the minister will not only participate in the forum but will also hold a bilateral meeting with the Saudi hajj and umrah minister.He is also expected to attend a review meeting with officials of the Bangladesh Hajj Mission regarding the progress of this year’s Hajj activities.
Additionally, the minister will visit hotels rented for the accommodation of Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims. He is scheduled to return to Bangladesh on 5 April.
