Mother, child killed after being run over by train in Gazipur

‎Bangla Press Desk:   A woman and her infant son were killed after a train ran over them on the Joydebpur-Mymensingh rail line at Rajendrapur, Gazipur on Friday morning.

Kayyum Ali, sub-inspector at the police outpost at Joydebpur Railway Station, said officers are investigating whether the deaths were the result of the mother's suicide attempt. Appropriate legal measures will be taken following the investigation, he added.The deceased have been identified as Miti Rani Das, 39, and her son Rudra Das, 2. They hail from Chinashukhania are of Sreepur upazila, Gazipur.

Miti Rani Das died on the spot after a train passed over her. Locals rushed her son to the Shahid Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital, where the doctors declared him dead.
