Mystery of businessman Hakim’s murder solved: Six held with arms, ammo in Raozan
Bangla Press Desk: Police have recovered a large cache of foreign-made arms and ammunition from Raozan’s Noapara area in Chattogram and arrested six people in connection with the sensational murder of businessman Abdul Hakim.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Md Russel of Chattogram district police confirmed the development on Monday morning.
According to police sources, a special team conducted an overnight raid from Sunday night to early Monday at the residence of Ayub Ali Saudagar in the Chowdhuryhat area of Noapara. During the drive, law enforcers seized at least five foreign-made pistols, seven magazines, several rounds of bullets, and a motorcycle used in the murder.
ASP Russel said, “The mystery behind the sensational murder of Abdul Hakim near the Madunaghat Bridge in Hathazari has been solved. Six accused involved in the killing have been arrested with the foreign pistols, revolvers, ammunition, and the motorcycle used in the crime.”
He added that the operation is still ongoing, and further details regarding the seized weapons and arrests will be disclosed at a press briefing later in the day. Additional police forces have been deployed in the area to maintain law and order.
