Bangla Press Desk: A police inspector was killed and his wife seriously injured when the couple tried to cross a road near the Gazipur Police Lines, Gazipur city on Friday night.
Inspector Mostafiz Hasan, 52, was the officer-in-charge of the Detective Branch (DB) in Naogaon. His wife Latifa Jasmin, 48, is undergoing treatment at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Gazipur Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mehedi Hasan confirmed the deaths. A bus of “Pather Sathi Paribahan” crushed the couple when they were trying to cross the road and reach a restaurant beside the Gazipur Police Lines, said Mehedi Hasan.
The killer bus has been seized, and drives are underway to nab the driver, the officer told reporters. He could not say why the couple was visiting Gazipur.
