National Board of Revenue suspends Eid break, customs to run partially
Bangla Press Desk: The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has directed that import and export activities at customs houses remain operational on a limited scale during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.
However, customs stations will remain closed on the day of Eid.The directive was issued on Monday through a notice signed by Rezaul Karim, Second Secretary (Customs Policy) of the NBR.
According to the notice, all concerns have been requested to keep import and export activities running on a limited scale from 17 to 23 March, except on the day of Eid, despite the weekly and Eid holidays.
The move aims to ensure uninterrupted import and export trade during the festive period.
The notice has been sent to the commissioners of customs houses in Dhaka, Chattogram, Benapole, ICD Kamalapur, Mongla and Pangaon. Similar instructions were also issued to the commissioners of Customs, Excise and VAT commissionerates in Dhaka (North), Dhaka (West), Dhaka (East), Dhaka (South), Chattogram, Rajshahi, Jashore, Khulna, Sylhet, Rangpur and Cumilla.Source: daily Sun
