National Parliament Speaker’s wife on ventilation

Bangla Press Desk:  The wife of National Parliament Speaker Hafiz Uddin Bir Bikram, Mrs Dilara Hafiz, is in a critical condition and currently on ventilation at Singapore General Hospital.

BNP Media Cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan confirmed the development to the media on Friday (27 March).He said Mrs Hafiz is receiving treatment at the hospital, where her condition remains extremely serious.

He added that a medical board at Singapore General Hospital is scheduled to meet on Saturday morning, after which a detailed update on her health condition is expected.

Mrs Hafiz had earlier been undergoing treatment for a long time at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka. As her condition was not improving there as per expectation, she was flown to Singapore by air ambulance on the afternoon of Eid-ul-Fitr for advanced treatment.

Shayrul Kabir Khan also said that BNP Standing Committee member and adviser to the Prime Minister, Mirza Abbas, is currently receiving treatment in the Cardiac Care Unit (CCU) at the same hospital.
