NBR, Bangladesh Bank to launch live operation of commercial invoice system on April 7
Bangla Press Desk: The National Board of Revenue and the Bangladesh Bank are set to launch a real-time digital system for submitting commercial invoices in import transactions, aiming to enhance transparency and efficiency.
Under the joint initiative, commercial invoices issued by exporters will be submitted in a unified format through the ASYCUDA World system on a real-time basis.
Officials said the interconnection between the two systems has already been established, and user acceptance testing (UAT) has been completed successfully.
A policy decision has been taken to begin live operation of the system on April 7, 2026.
The formal inauguration will take place at 5:00pm at the NBR in Agargaon, Dhaka. The event will be inaugurated by Md Abdur Rahman Khan, FCMA, secretary of the Internal Resources Division and chairman of the NBR.
Officials believe the initiative will improve accountability in import procedures, reduce the scope for misdeclaration or over-invoicing, and have a positive impact on revenue collection.
