Bangla Press Desk: Sixteen political parties, including the youth-led NCP, have qualified in the primary probe of Election Commission (EC) to enlist for the upcoming general elections.
The EC confirmed the development on Sunday. Till 22 June, 144 new parties submitted their applications, but EC rejected them all due to incorrect filings.
The EC sent letters asking for corrections to 62 parties in the first phase, and to 82 parties, including NCP, in the second phase.
Having approved the written applications as correct, EC officials will now conduct field visits to verify the data provided in the applications.
