NCP leader’s hanging body recovered from Hazaribagh hostel

Bangla Press Desk:   Police have recovered the hanging body of a female leader of National Citizen Party (NCP) from a hostel in the Jigatala area of Dhaka’s Hazaribagh on Thursday (18 December) morning.

The deceased was identified as Jannat Ara Rumi, 32, daughter of Md Zakir Hossain. She was the joint secretary of the Dhanmondi thana unit of the NCP.

Jannat’s body was found hanging in a room on the fifth floor of the Jannat Women’s Hostel in Jigatala early in the morning, said Md Kamruzzaman, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Hazaribagh Police Station.

The police official said the body would be sent to the morgue following legal procedures.

Officer-in-Charge (Operations) of the police station Delwar Hossain said that initially, it appears to be a case of suicide, though the exact reason behind the killing will be determined after investigation.
