New political platform ‘Insaf Moncho’ floated
Bangla Press Desk: A new political platform, ‘Insaf Moncho’, has been launched with a pledge to restore people’s rights and establish a justice-based system of governance amid the country’s ongoing political and economic crisis.
The platform was formally unveiled at a press conference held at the National Press Club in Dhaka on Monday (26 January), where Brigadier General (retd) Shamim Kamal, Chairman of the Janatar Dal, was named the convener of Insaf Moncho.
According to the platform’s declaration, Bangladesh is standing at a critical historical juncture, where sovereignty, economy, employment and the fundamental rights of citizens are being challenged in various ways. Against this backdrop, Insaf Moncho said it has been formed to retrieve the people’s lost rights and restore national dignity.
The core objectives of the new platform are to establish a justice-based state system, ensure fundamental human rights and freedom of expression, guarantee personal security, create dignified employment, and build fair political and electoral unity.
The declaration stressed that Insaf Moncho is not an alternative to any existing political alliance. Rather, it aims to function as an independent, responsible and election-time unity to ensure fair representation of the people, promote ethical politics, and protect voting rights within the current political reality.
Addressing the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election and the Referendum, organisers said the platform brings together independent candidates, registered political parties and various democratic forces.
They added that Insaf Moncho would be run under a disciplined, transparent and democratic structure, with overall political guidance and moral leadership provided by Janatar Dal Chairman Shamim Kamal.
The declaration further stated that Insaf Moncho believes in politics of unity rather than division. Emphasising the rule of law and ethical leadership over personality cults, the platform said its goal is to ensure justice not only in voting rights but across the full spectrum of citizens’ rights.
The press conference was, among others, attended by Gazi Mustafiz, Chairman of Sommilito Gonotantrik Jote; Shahriar Iftekhar, Chairman of the Gonomukti Jote; academic Momena Khatun; Azam Khan, General Secretary of Janata Mancha; Ataullah Khan, Chairman of Gano Azadi League.
