No alternative to acceptable polls for development, stability

Bangla Press Desk:   BNP Vice Chairman Abdul Awal Mintu has stated that there is no alternative to free, fair, and acceptable national elections for Bangladesh’s development and political stability.

He made these remarks while responding to questions from journalists while visiting various Durga Puja pandals in Sonagazi of Feni on Wednesday night.

Mintu said, “For the past 18 years, BNP has been striving to establish a democratic government through free and fair elections. We believe that for Bangladesh’s development, economic growth, and political stability, such elections are essential.”

He added, “BNP will ensure that the upcoming election is free, fair, and credible, resulting in a democratic government accountable to the people. BNP is the largest political party in the country and a liberal, democratic force.”

On the question of banning the Awami League, Mintu said, “BNP has not made any statements regarding banning anyone. We cannot comment on the government’s actions or the remarks of our advisers.”

He also emphasized party unity, stating, “There is no division within BNP. When the election comes and nominations are declared, all party leaders and activists will contest unitedly.”

Local BNP leaders and activists from various levels attended the event.
