Opposition leader joins street cleaning drive after Fajr Prayers
Bangla Press Desk: Following Fajr prayers, the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament and Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Shafiqur Rahman took part in a cleanliness campaign on Wednesday.
He joined the drive in the Baitun Noor Mosque area adjacent to Monipur High School (Main Girls’ Branch) in Mirpur, Dhaka.Speaking on the occasion, Shafiqur Rahman said, “Through state reforms, we want to remove all forms of filth from the country. We will build a clean nation. If everyone keeps their own surroundings clean, the entire country will become clean.”
He further remarked, “If July had not come, Tarique Rahman would not have become Prime Minister, and I would not have become the Leader of the Opposition. Therefore, we should all work to implement the spirit of July in Parliament.”
Dhaka North city Ameer Selim Uddin and other party leaders and activists were also present at the programme.
