Staff Reporter: Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inkilab Mancha, has passed away while undergoing treatment in Singapore. A Foreign Ministry official involved in overseeing his medical care in Singapore confirmed the matter to the media around 10 p.m. on Thursday night.

On Friday (December 12), the day after the national election schedule was announced, miscreants shot Osman Hadi while he was riding in a rickshaw on Box Culvert Road in Old Paltan, Dhaka. At the time, he was campaigning as an independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency.
Two assailants arrived on a motorcycle and shot him at close range before fleeing the scene. He was rushed in critical condition to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Doctors later determined that the bullet entered through the right side of his head and exited through the left, though fragments remained lodged in his brain.
At the family’s request, he was later transferred to Evercare Hospital in the capital. Most recently, on Monday afternoon (December 15), Osman Hadi was flown by air ambulance to Singapore for advanced medical treatment. He died there while undergoing treatment.
