Parliament returns Sunday after 14-day recess
Bangla Press Desk: The first session of the current parliament will resume on Sunday with its third sitting at 3pm after a 14-day break.
The agenda for Sunday's business include discussion on the thanksgiving motion over the president’s speech delivered on the very first day of the maiden session of the 13th parliament.There will also be a question-and-answer session over the Local Government Division, Rural Development and Co-operatives Division, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Prime Minister’s Office, the Election Commission, and the President’s Office.
Besides, a discussion may be held on notices placed by three lawmakers, calling attention of the House to matters of urgent public importance in line with Section 71 of the Rules of Procedure.
On 12 March, the 13th Jatiya Sangsad began its five-year journey with its first session, just a month after the 12 February general election.
On 15 March, Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, Bir Bikram, adjourned the session until 29 March after only two sitting business due to the Eid-ul-Fitr vacation.
During the current session, a total of 50 hours of discussion will be held on the thanksgiving motion over the president’s speech.
