Bangla Press Desk: Citing an oblique reference to the defeated Awami League regime, Law Adviser Asif Nazrul has said that a political party turns into a monster when it does not fear of losing power.
“A political party fears indulging in misdeeds and wrongdoings when it thinks it will have to lose power after five years. Besides, a party emerges as a monster when it no longer fears losing of power, which we saw during the Awami League period,” he said.
Claiming that the executive, law and judiciary are the three main pillars of a state, the law adviser said his government is working to fix the problems in the three divisions to uphold the country’s overall human rights situation.
He made the remarks while addressing the 11th Human Rights Conference organised by Human Rights Supports Society (HRSS) at the Muzaffar Ahmed Chowdhury Auditorium of Dhaka University on Saturday.
