Probe report submission deferred to 11 March

Bangla Press Desk: A Dhaka court on Thursday set 11 March for the submission of the probe report in the murder case of Inqilab Moncho spokesperson Sharif Osman Bin Hadi.

This marks the ninth time the submission of the probe report has been deferred.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Jashita Islam set the new date after the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) failed to submit the report within the scheduled time.

On 12 December 2025, Hadi, an independent candidate from the Dhaka-8 constituency, was shot in Dhaka’s Paltan area.

He died on 18 December 2025 while receiving treatment in Singapore.On 14 December 2025, Abdullah Al Jaber, member secretary of Inqilab Moncho, filed an attempted murder case with Paltan Model Police Station over the incident which later turned into a murder case after the death of Hadi.

Later in 6 January, DB Inspector Faisal Ahmed, the investigation officer of the case, submitted a chargesheet against 17 accused.

However, on 15 January, the plaintiff, filed a no-confidence (naraji) petition stating that the chargesheet skipped the main planners behind the killing.

Subsequently, the court directed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to investigate the case.Source: daily Sun
