Prof. Mamun Habib Featured in Britishpedia

Bangla Press Desk:  Prof. Dr. Md. Mamun Habib, Head of the Department of Management at the School of Business and Entrepreneurship (SBE) of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), has been included in the 7th edition of Britishpedia – Successful People in Malaysia and Singapore, an international biographical reference published by BPH - British Publishing House Ltd., London, UK.

The publication recognises professionals and academics whose work has made significant impact in their respective fields. Prof. Habib’s inclusion reflects his extensive contributions to research, teaching, industry consultancy and global engagement in supply chain management – a discipline critical to both academic development and industry practice.

Prof. Habib spent a significant part of his academic career in Malaysia and Southeast Asia, where he taught, supervised Ph.D. scholars, served as Ph.D. external examiner, conducted research, and collaborated with universities and industries. His long-standing professional engagement with Malaysian institutions, as well as his continuing research partnerships and publications with scholars from the region, formed the basis for his inclusion in a volume dedicated to successful personalities connected to Malaysia and Singapore.

Prof. Habib has more than 23 years of academic and research experience across Bangladesh and abroad, with over 250 scholarly publications – including journal articles, book chapters and books – of which more than 80 are indexed in Scopus and Web of Science. He delivers Keynote speeches at more than 100 international conferences and conducts over 250 webinars and workshops across the world.

He completed his PhD and MS in Computer & Engineering Management (with research in Supply Chain Management) from Assumption University, Thailand with outstanding performance, and holds a BSc in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET).

Before his current role at IUB, he served as faculty at the BRAC Business School and the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) and held academic positions at Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) and UNITAR International University, Malaysia. He also has international engagements as Visiting Scientist at the University of Texas at Arlington, USA, and Visiting Professor at Unirazak and UCSI in Malaysia, PUP in the Philippines, Beijing Wuzi University in China, and Universitas Ciputra in Indonesia. He is involved in Business School Accreditation, particularly as an AACSB Virtual Ambassador & ACBSP Evaluator,

Reacting to the recognition, Prof. Habib said the inclusion highlights the growing international visibility of Bangladeshi academics. “This acknowledgement encourages me to continue contributing to knowledge creation and professional practice in academia and industry across the globe,” he said.
