Recent fires part of conspiracy: Sarjis

Bangla Press Desk:  National Citizen Party Chief Organiser (Northern Region) Sarjis Alam has termed the recent fire incidents at different places in the country a part of a conspiracy.

In a Facebook post on Saturday evening, he wrote, “One of the biggest failures of the interim government is its inability to track down the associates of the dictatorship and bring them to appropriate punishment. As a result, Bangladesh will suffer the consequences for a long time.”

Describing the fire incidents as part of a conspiracy, Sarjis said, “I do not regard the fires at various places as isolated events. These are part of a scheme by supporters of authoritarianism to destabilise the country. The true cause behind the fire incidents must be uncovered, dropping the theatrics of the so-called investigation committee.”

Sarjis made the comments following the massive fire that broke out at the cargo village of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Saturday afternoon.
