Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant’s Russian employee found dead in Pabna
Bangla Press Desk: Police recovered the body of a Russian man, who was employed at the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant (RNPP), from his rented house at Ishwardi upazila, Pabna on Saturday night. The deceased was identified as Karprov Kril, 26. He was an electrician at ESKM, a firm involved with the project. The body has been sent to the Pabna Medical College Hospital for autopsy. Initial findings suggest Kril died from a coronary attack, for which he received treatment at a hospital in Dhaka recently. Afzal, in-charge at the Ambagan police outpost, told reporters that Kril’s family tried contacting him multiple times over the phone on Saturday night, but failed.
The family later alerted ESKM security officials of potential risks to Kril’s life. The company’s security officer Anowarul Islam, accompanied by one of Kril’s Russian neighbors, went to his house to learn about his well-being. As they received no response at the door, they broke in, only to find Kril lying face down on his bed. Later, a Russian doctor declared him dead. An unnatural death case has been filed in connection with the incident, the police have said. This article was originally published on Daily Sun. [Bangla Press is a global platform for free thought.
