Secretariat springs back to life after 7-day Eid break

Bangla Press Desk:   Following a continuous 7-day holiday for the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, all government offices, including the Bangladesh Secretariat, as well as banks, insurance companies, and financial institutions, reopened on Tuesday.

After returning to work, officials and employees are exchanging greetings and embracing each other, sharing the festive spirit of Eid.On 21 March, one of the largest religious festivals of Muslims, Eid-ul-Fitr, was celebrated across the country with due religious solemnity and a festive atmosphere. To ensure the smooth observance of this holy festival, the government had declared a total of seven days of nationwide public holidays from 17 March to 23 March.

After the holiday, officials and employees started arriving at the Secretariat from 8:30 in the morning on Tuesday. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman arrived at his office in the Secretariat on time, coming in at 9:00am.

On the ground, it was seen that on the first day of reopening, senior secretaries, secretaries, and employees at all levels from various ministries exchanged greetings. Many were also seen embracing each other.

After the long Eid holiday, liveliness has returned throughout the Secretariat. Some employees came directly to the office from their villages with bags in hand. Their conversations still carried the joy of Eid. 

Normal office activities have also resumed in full swing. Many said that the day is mainly being spent as a formality of reopening offices and meeting colleagues.Source: daily Sun
