Shafiqur Rahman re-elected as Jamaat Ameer
Bangla Press Desk: Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, the current Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, has been re-elected to the post for the 2026–2028 term. The information was disclosed in a press release issued by the party on Sunday (November 2).
According to the statement, the party’s Chief Election Commissioner and Assistant Secretary General, Maulana ATM Masum, announced the results of the Ameer election on Saturday night.
The release said that voting was conducted by secret ballot among the party’s Rukon (members) across the country from October 9 to October 25.
After completion of the voting process, the responsible teams counted the votes, and on Saturday night, the Chief Election Commissioner officially announced the results.
Based on the final count, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman received the highest number of votes and was elected as the Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami for the 2026–2028 term.
