Bangla Press Desk: The Shikkharthi Oikya Forum, a panel backed by the Bangladesh Democratic Students’ Union, alleged widespread irregularities in the Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (JUCSU) and hall union elections at a press conference on the university campus in the early hours of Friday.
Vice President candidate Arifuzzaman Uzzal accused the administration of failing to ensure equal opportunities for all candidates.
“We had expected the authorities to guarantee a level playing field and conduct a fair election,” he said. “But from the very outset, we observed numerous inconsistencies.”
He alleged the deadline for submitting nomination papers had been secretly extended late at night to benefit a particular group.
