Six Dead In 'Horrifying' U.S Highway Car Crash

Kousholy Ema: It was sadly reported that six people were killed in a crash in west Charlotte in North Carolina this Saturday. According to multiple reports, this fatal accident occurred at around 11:40 a.m. near Exit 9 on I-485. Medic said the six people who passed away were pronounced dead at the scene. There was one other person who was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

"Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by this horrific incident," Medic said in a statement.

It's unclear what led to this awful accident. According to Queen City News, no charges have been filed at this time.

Medic said this is still an active scene. A Queen City News photographer was at the scene around 2:30 p.m., and he said I-485 Outer was still completely shut down.

The authorities in Charlotte should have an update on this accident in the coming days.

As a detour to avoid traffic or road closures, drivers can take Exit 10A to I-85 North, then take Exit 38 to I-77 South, and then back onto I-485.

There was another accident that occurred on 1-485 this Saturday, per reports. Thankfully, no fatalities have been reported there.
