Six Officials Face Action After SSC Candidates Given Wrong Set
Bangla Press Desk: Six teachers have been removed from the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination duties for setting and supervising a written test using the wrong question paper at a centre in Jashore’s Sharsha Upazila.
The decision was announced on Monday by Exam Controller Prof Abdul Matin of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Jashore, two days after the suspension order was issued.
Those withdrawn are: Centre Secretary Gias Uddin, hall Superintendent Faruk Hossain, Exam Committee Member Ershad Ali, NURS Secondary School Headmaster Santosh Kumar, Horidrapota Abdul Gofur Adarsa High School Assistant Teacher Mohidul Islam and Bamunia Sonatankati Secondary School Assistant Teacher Mazharul Islam.
On April 23, 12 first-time candidates at Bagachara Sammilita Girls’ School and College centre were mistakenly given question papers meant for irregular examinees during the Bangla second paper exam.
When the matter came to light, the students and their guardians reacted strongly, fearing demerit points on their results.
Matin said the authorities were firm against exam-related irregularities.
“We have already informed which examinees are to sit for which syllabus. Still, the teachers were negligent in their duties,” he said.
He added that a letter would be sent to the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education seeking departmental action against the six teachers.
