Smooth Eid travel continues on Dhaka-Chattogram highway even today
Bangla Press Desk: Homebound passengers continued to travel without major disruption on the Dhaka–Chattogram highway on the second day of the Eid journey, marking a significant improvement from previous years when the route was often plagued by congestion.
Passengers and transport workers across 22 thana areas in the Cumilla region said traffic remained largely smooth from Wednesday morning. Despite a high volume of vehicles, no major traffic jams were reported, with law enforcement effectively managing minor slowdowns.Traffic was relatively slow from Dhaka to Kanchpur Bridge in Narayanganj, but conditions improved significantly from Gazaria in Munshiganj through Daudkandi Bridge to Chattogram.
Passenger Amjad Hossain Gulzar said it took around three hours to reach Cumilla from Dhaka, while Afroza Akter reported a quick journey from Chattogram.
Cumilla Highway Police Superintendent Shahinur Alam Khan said authorities had taken extensive measures to ensure a hassle-free Eid journey and expressed hope that smooth travel would continue.Source: daily Sun
