Bangla Press Desk: The government has revoked gallantry and service awards of 40 fugitive police officers for their allegedly criminal activities committed under the Awami League government.
The list includes former DB chief Harun-or-Rashid, and additional deputy inspector general Biplab Kumar Sarkar, among others.
The Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM) and President’s Police Medal (PPM) of the officials have been withdrawn, said a notification issued by the Public Security Division of Home Ministry on Thursday. The matter came to light on Sunday.
The officials are under disciplinary probes for “fleeing their workplaces,” the notification added.
