Tangail Correspondent: A young man from Sakhipur, Tangail, has been killed in a missile attack on a residential building in Saudi Arabia.The attack took place at around 9 pm Bangladesh time on Sunday (March 8) at a residential building in a compound in Al-Kharj Governorate, Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Civil Defense Agency reported the attack in a post on social media.
The deceased expatriate has been identified as Mosharraf Hossain (38). He is the son of Sujat Ali of Kirtankhola Madhyapara village in Gazaria union of Sakhipur upazila. A mourning ceremony is underway at the deceased's house in this incident.
According to family and local sources, Mosharraf Hossain went to Saudi Arabia about eight years ago in search of livelihood. He last came to the country two years ago. He had a video call with his eldest son Mahim about half an hour before his death.
Mosharraf's eldest son Mahim (14) is a ninth-grade student at a local high school and his younger son Mihan (7) is a first-grade madrasa student.Mahim said that he spoke to his father on a video call at around 8:30 pm yesterday (March 8). Then his father said, to buy what is needed for Eid clothes. He also said that he would send money after Iftar. But during Iftar, his father was killed in a missile attack.
Mosharraf's wife Kabori Akhter lamented that she had her last conversation with him at around 7:00 pm yesterday. How will I live with these two children now? Who will look after us now?
Mosharraf's father Sujat Ali said, I will not be able to see my son again. Now I want at least his body back to the country. So that I can see him for the last time. I request the government to bring the body back to the country quickly.
Meanwhile, Sakhipur Upazila Executive Officer Abdullah Al Roni went to the house of the deceased Mosharraf at around 10:30 am on Monday (March 9) and consoled the family members.
Upazila Executive Officer Abdullah Al Roni said that round-the-clock contact is being maintained with the concerned departments. Necessary steps will be taken to bring the body back to the country as soon as possible. In addition, the government will provide all kinds of assistance to the affected families. Source: daily Sun
