Tarique arranges wedding for daughter of slain BNP leader
Bangla Press Desk: In a gesture of support and solidarity, acting BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has arranged the wedding of Sadia Sultana, the daughter of late Wali Ullah Mollah, a BNP leader who was killed in police firing in Satkhira. The marriage ceremony for Sadia Sultana, the second daughter of the former general secretary of Kashimari union unit of BNP in Shymanagar, was held on Sunday. The initiative was undertaken through a special party cell named Amra BNP Poribar, which coordinated all aspects of the event on behalf of Tarique Rahman. A delegation, representing the acting BNP chairman, attended the ceremony, presenting gifts to the bride and bridegroom, along with providing special financial assistance to the family.
The delegation members include Amra BNP Poribar Member Secretary Agriculturalist Moksedul Momin Mithun, Adviser Abul Kashem and Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal Joint General Secretary Hasnain Nahian Sajib. This is the second time Tarique Rahman has extended such support to the family. He previously took responsibility for the wedding of Wali Ullah's eldest daughter, Naima Sultana, in 2024. Wali Ullah was shot to death in a reported gunfight involving police in Shyamnagar upazila on 10 July 2016. This article was originally published on Daily Sun.
