Tarique pledges to announce pay scale on time

Bangla Press Desk: BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has pledged to announce the national pay scale for the government officers and employees on time if his party is voted to power through the 12 February national election.

“In our party manifesto, we have stated that if BNP gets the responsibility to run the state through the people’s verdict, the national pay scale for government officers and employees will be announced and implemented on time,” he said.

The BNP chairman made the promise in his televised address to the nation on the eve of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad election and referendum-2026.  

About the BNP’s policy in running the administration, Tarique said every constitutional institution will operate according to constitutional rules as governance and administration will not be politicised.

“The fallen, defeated, and expelled fascist forces had made all constitutional and statutory institutions of the country ineffective. They had completely politicised the administration.” 

He said if the BNP goes to power, recruitment and promotion in administration will be based on merit and competence. 

“If the public administration cannot be established on a proper foundation, none of our initiatives will yield results,” he added.
