Tawhid Afridi’s arrest untangles Munia murder mystery
Bangla Press Desk: The much-discussed Munia murder mystery has been untangled as the arrest of content creator Tawhid Afridi has brought to light various incidents of his fraud, torture and blackmail along with the real story of the college student’s murder. A video report recently published by the Crime Edition revealed shocking information about Afridi’s various misdeeds, including forcing YouTubers and bloggers to work for the fascist and now banned Awami League. Several leaked phone conversations and statements given by the victims reveal that Afridi’s closeness with Munia was not limited to mere personal relationships. When their intimate relationship deteriorated, Afridi brutally killed Munia. This information has been revealed by another woman who was a victim of Afridi’s deception and lust. Consequently, Munia’s death mystery took a new turn, prompting the police and detectives to refocus on their investigation in light of the latest sensational information. People familiar with the matter said that Tawhid Afridi and his family were close to former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former Law Minister Anisul Huq and former DB Chief Harun ur Rashid.  Tawhid used to address Harun as uncle. He regularly supplied women to these three influential government officials. In return, Tawhid used to commit various crimes under their protection. People concerned fear that the Munia murder incident was taken to a misleading direction due to their influence. In the Crime Edition report, a woman who did not want to be named said that after being in a relationship for a long time, Afridi suddenly dumped her. Later, she was called to the Detective Branch (DB) office and threatened to disappear. As a result, her dream of starting a family ended.
The woman also said, “I came to know that he (Afridi) had relationships with various girls. There was a girl named Munia, and Afridi was also in a relationship with her. Knowing this, I got a little angry with him. It was natural; I must feel a little bad, since I had fallen in love with him. “After I told him that, he reacted very badly. At one point, he even said that I will also meet the same fate Munia did. I mean, indirectly, he threatened to kill me.” The report mentions that some phone records were leaked based on the woman’s complaint, where Afridi’s visits to Munia’s house and intimacy became apparent. Looking closely at Afridi’s relationship with Munia makes the real mystery of Munia murder clear. In a phone call, Munia, another woman and Tawhid are heard talking. The woman says, “Repeat what you said.” Munia says, “He says there will be ‘no juices left’”. Then Tawhid Afridi says, “She will not have any juices left after marriage. All the juices before marriage… after marriage….” Munia is heard saying, “How could he say… what would I have done to him… nothing upon you…”
In another phone call, Munia says, “Where are you, where are you, what are you doing?” Tawhid Afridi says, “Here I am, here I am, I am coming at night.” Munia says, “Oh, where are you coming?” Afridi says, “I will pick you up at night.” Munia says, “Okay, give me a call.” In another phone call Munia can be heard saying, “Hello, where are you?”. Afridi says, “In the office, at work in the office.” Munia says, “Do you drive cars at the office? Ha ha ha!” Afridi says, “No, no. I’m in the office.” Munia says, “Okay, tell me what to do now?” Afridi says, “What to do?” Tawhid says, “I don’t understand.” Munia says, “I mean, won’t you meet me today?” Afridi says, “Tonight, tonight.” In another phone call, Afridi says, “I’m just coming out of the Intercontinental. I mean, I can come, no problem. I’m a little drunk. Is that okay?” Munia says, “None, what’s the problem with being drunk!” Afridi says, “Okay.” Then Munia says, “Kabaikaba!” Afridi said, “What! I don’t understand.” Munia says, “Kabaikaba, stupid!” Afridi says, “Why stupid?” Munia says, “How could you talk so naturally?” Afridi says, “Yes! I talk naturally. And another thing – one percent! I am telling you this. I’m coming at night.” At that time Munia says, “Why are you so naughty?” The report said that during the July protests, Afridi threatened popular content creators in the country and tried to use them in the fascist Awami League government’s favour. In addition, Afridi has been accused of having sexual relations with several women after luring them with promises of marriage.
So far, information regarding two cases against Afridi has been found. In a case filed by Jatrabari Police Station, it has been alleged that he was involved in planning and carrying out the murder of a protester named Asadul Haque Babu during the July Movement. Another case filed at Badda Police Station states that on 20 July 2024, Afridi opened fire indiscriminately on protesters under the Middle Badda Flyover with an illegal weapon.
