Noakhali Correspondent: The Special Response Battalion-11 (SRB-11), Crime Prevention Company-3 (CPC-3), has arrested the prime accused, Rabiul Hossain alias Kalu (19), in a case filed over the rape of a teenage girl in Sudharam, Noakhali—an act allegedly committed after she rejected his romantic advances.
Mithun Kumar Kundu, Company Commander of SRB-11, CPC-3 (Noakhali) and Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police, confirmed this in a press release issued on Thursday (October 15) afternoon. The accused was arrested around 11:15 PM on Wednesday from the residence of an individual named Choton, located in the 'Ruposhi Baper Bari' area (Ward 8, Char Mondalia, Dhanshalik Union, Kabirhat Upazila).
The arrested individual, Kalu, is the son of Jasim Uddin from the Dhannyapur area (Ward 6, Neyajpur Union, Sudharam, Noakhali).
According to the press release from SRB-11, CPC-3, the victim is a student at a local madrasa. It is alleged that the incident took place around 11:00 PM on October 5 inside the kitchen of the victim's home in the Dhannyapur area of Neyajpur Union. Rabiul reportedly raped the teenager against her will after attempting to lure her with romantic overtures. Acting on a tip-off, authorities conducted an operation and apprehended the prime accused. He has since been handed over to the Sudharam Model Police Station for further legal action.
Mithun Kumar Kundu, Company Commander of SRB-11, CPC-3 (Noakhali) and Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police, added that their operations to bring those involved in crimes against women and children to justice are ongoing.
