The district where BNP has not fielded a single candidate
Bangla Press Desk: The BNP has officially announced the candidates for 237 constituencies ahead of the 13th national parliamentary elections, leaving a significant number of seats deliberately vacant.
Most of these unfilled constituencies appear reserved for allied parties that have backed the BNP during political movements. Meanwhile, internal competition has stalled the finalisation of candidates in several key areas. Notably, the party has left an entire district where no one has been given nominations.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir unveiled the party’s candidate list on Monday (3 November) evening.
In the published list, it has been noticed that in Bagerhat, which comprises three constituencies, not a single candidate has been nominated. All three seats remain conspicuously empty, highlighting ongoing indecision or internal disputes within the party.
Out of the 63 constituencies left vacant, the BNP is reportedly considering allocating 40 to allied parties, leaving 23 constituencies in limbo.
The central committee has yet to finalise decisions on these remaining seats, with announcements expected at a later date.
