Bangla Press Desk: A large number of tourists have flocked to the Sundarbans during the Eid holidays, as visitors from different parts of the country travel to the world-famous mangrove forest to spend their vacation.
As a result, the Forest Department is struggling to manage the growing number of visitors.According to the Department, tourist spots including Karamjal Wildlife Centre are witnessing a steady increase in visitors during the Eid holidays.
Karamjal, the closest and one of the most attractive tourist spots from Mongla, receives tourists throughout the year. However, the highest number of visitors usually arrive during Eid and other public holidays.
Karamjal is home to the country’s only crocodile and turtle breeding centre. The site also features a long wooden foot trail, a watchtower for visitors, and areas where monkeys and deer can be seen roaming freely.
In addition, tourist centres such as Hiron Point, Katka, Kochikhali, Dublar Char and other locations are also experiencing heavy tourist crowds. The presence of visitors of all ages has created a festive atmosphere across the tourist zones.Officials said the peak tourist season is currently underway and the Eid holidays have further increased visitor numbers. Mohammad Azad Kabir, officer-in-charge of the Karamjal tourist centre, said tourist numbers have increased significantly after Eid.
“Visitor numbers were low during Ramadan, but they have increased sharply after Eid. We are working to ensure the safety and security of all visitors,” he said.Source: daily Sun
