Train Services Restored on Dhaka-Mymensingh Route After Tree Blockage
Bangla Press Desk: Rail communication between Dhaka and Mymensingh resumed early Thursday after remaining suspended for nearly four hours due to a fallen tree on the railway track.
The disruption occurred around 9:30 pm on Wednesday near Jabbar’s Mor in the Bangladesh Agricultural University area when a tree was uprooted by strong winds and collapsed onto the track, halting all train movement on the route.
As a result, the Mymensingh-bound Jamuna Express was stranded near the spot, causing temporary inconvenience for passengers.
After receiving the information, police and members of the university fire service station rushed to the scene.
Rescue work began around 10:00 pm after an emergency call was made to 999.
Fire service personnel said removing the large tree took several hours.
After nearly three hours of continuous effort, the tree was cleared at around 1:15 am, allowing train services to gradually resume.
Authorities said prompt action helped avert any major accident.
