Two accused sent to jail for allegedly helping Faisal flee to India
Bangla Press Desk: A Dhaka court on Friday sent to jail two persons who allegedly helped prime suspect Foysal Karim Masud fleeing to India, in a case lodged over the murder of Inqilab Moncho spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi.
The two accused are-- Civion Dew, 32, and Sanjay Chisim, 22.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ripon Hossain passed the order as police produced the duo before the court after the end of their two rounds of remand in the case and pleaded to keep them behind bars till end of the probe.
Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Joshita Islam on 18 December placed the duo on a three-day remand each, while they were again placed on a five-day remand each on 21 December by the court of Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sefatullah.
Sharif Osman Hadi, an independent parliamentary candidate for Dhaka-8 and spokesperson of Inqilab Moncho, was shot on 12 December in the capital's Bijoynagar Box Culvert area.
According to the case statement, two assailants riding a motorcycle opened fire on Hadi while he was travelling in a battery-run rickshaw and then fled the scene.
Inqilab Moncho Member Secretary Abdullah Al Zaber filed the case with Paltan Model Police Station on 14 December.
The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Siddiq Azad on 20 December ordered the inclusion of Section 302 (murder) of the Penal Code in the case filed over the attempted killing of Sharif Osman Hadi, turning it into a murder case following his death on 18 December.
