Two killed, 10 injured in head-on bus crash in Sylhet

Sylhet Representative: A head-on collision between two buses in Sylhet’s Osmaninagar upazila killed two people and injured at least 10 others early Saturday.

The accident occurred around 7:00am on the Dhaka–Sylhet Highway in the Osmaninagar area, police said.

Police said a Dhaka-bound Ena Paribahan bus and a Unique Paribahan vehicle collided head-on with a Shyamoli Paribahan bus travelling from Gaibandha to Sylhet. The impact killed two people on the spot and injured at least 10 others.

Fire Service personnel and local residents rushed to the scene and rescued the injured, taking them to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital. Authorities have yet to identify the deceased.

Osmaninagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Monayem Mia said police sent the injured to hospital and restored traffic movement on the Dhaka–Sylhet highway.
