Unresolved issues of 1971 have been addressed twice: Ishaq Dar
Bangla Press Desk: Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan Mohammed Ishaq Dar stated that the unresolved issues of 1971 between Bangladesh and Pakistan have been resolved twice. He made the comment while talking to journalists after a bilateral meeting held between the two countries at Hotel Sonargaon in the capital on Sunday morning. Earlier, Bangladesh’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain and Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar joined a bilateral meeting. When asked about the unresolved issues including the genocide from the 1971 Liberation War, Ishaq Dar said that the unresolved issues between Bangladesh and Pakistan from 1971 have been resolved twice—once through the 1974 Tripartite Agreement and again in 2002 when Pervez Musharraf expressed regret during his visit.
After the meeting, the two countries signed six agreements and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This article was originally published on Daily Sun.
