Visitors’ entry into Shahjalal Airport to be restricted for next 24 hours
Bangla Press Desk: Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport will restrict the entry to all visitors and accompanying persons except passengers for next 24 hours starting from 6:00pm on Wednesday (24 December), airport authorities confirmed on Tuesday.
Group Captain SM Ragib Samad, executive director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA), confirmed this in a statement.
The HSIA’s executive director stated that from 6:00pm on 24 December to 6:00pm on 25 December, entry into the airport will be prohibited for all visitors and accompanying persons, except passengers.
During this period, only passengers holding valid tickets will be allowed inside the airport.
The move comes ahead of the return of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, scheduled for Thursday morning, (25 December), after a prolonged stay abroad.
BNP has reportedly made extensive preparations for his arrival, while law enforcement and relevant agencies remain on high alert in and around the airport.
