What caused the murder of journalist Tuhin?
  Bangla Press Desk: Assailants hacked journalist Asaduzzaman Tuhin to death in Gazipur on Thursday night. Tuhin, a staff reporter of the Dainik Pratidiner Kagoj in Gazipur, came under attack at a tea stall in front of the Mosque Market located in the Chandana intersection area. This incident has given rise to much speculation about the reason behind his murder. After the initial investigation, Gazipur Metropolitan Police Additional Deputy Commissioner Md Rabiul Islam explained the matter.
“Being informed about the incident, we immediately rushed to the spot and found Tuhin dead,” the police official told the media. “As part of our investigation, we collected CCTV footage from the surrounding area. In the footage, we saw a woman involved in an argument with a man on the street. At one point, the man hit her. Shortly after, four to five individuals known to the woman appeared with sharp weapons and attacked the man. During the assault, the man eventually disappeared from the scene. Later, we found that the man, named Badsha Mia, was admitted to Joydebpur General Hospital, and our police members spoke to him.” Rabiul said, “Based on information from Badsha Mia and local people, we came to know that journalist Tuhin recorded the incident on his mobile phone. Later, the assailants confronted Tuhin, quizzing him why he filmed it, and asked him to delete the footage. When the journalist refused to do so or denied recording the video, they swooped on Tuhin and killed him on the spot.” He said, “The incident that centred on a woman began with an injury and later escalated to murder. Apart from this, nothing else has emerged from our investigation.”
