Will return to Bangladesh on 25 Dec: Tarique
Bangla Press Desk: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) acting chairman Tarique Rahman has said that he plans to return to Bangladesh on 25 December, expressing confidence about his return.
Speaking as a guest at a discussion meeting organised by the UK unit of the BNP in London on Tuesday to mark Victory Day, Tarique said the programme had been arranged for two reasons — to observe the Great Victory Day on 16 December and to address party leaders and activists with whom he had spent many years abroad.
“This event is being organised for two reasons. Today, 16 December, is our Great Victory Day, and at the same time, I have been with you for a long time — for 17 to 18 years,” he said. “But on 25 December, InshaAllah, I will return to the country. That is why I want to speak to you calmly and peacefully today.”
The discussion meeting was presided over by BNP Chairperson’s Adviser and UK BNP President MA Malik.
The event was conducted by BNP National Executive Committee member and UK BNP General Secretary Koysor M Ahmed.
