Yaba worth Tk11.50 crore seized in Teknaf
Bangla Press Desk: Members of the Bangladesh Navy seized around 230,000 Yaba tablets worth an estimated Tk11.5 crore during a special drive in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Sunday.
According to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release, the operation was carried out following intelligence reports that an organised drug trafficking group had stockpiled a large quantity of narcotics in the Hnila area for distribution and smuggling.
Acting on the information, a Navy team conducted a raid in the Rongikhali area of the upazila. During the drive, the personnel recovered two white sacks from a suspected drug den.
Upon inspection, the sacks were found to contain approximately 2.30 lakh Yaba tablets, with an estimated market value of Tk11.5 crore.
The seized drugs were later handed over to Teknaf Police Station for further legal action. Source: daily Sun
