Bangla Press Desk: Members of the Bangladesh Navy seized around 230,000 Yaba tablets worth an estimated Tk11.5 crore during a special drive in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Sunday.
According to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release, the operation was carried out following intelligence reports that an organised drug trafficking group had stockpiled a large quantity of narcotics in the Hnila area for distribution and smuggling.
Acting on the information, a Navy team conducted a raid in the Rongikhali area of the upazila. During the drive, the personnel recovered two white sacks from a suspected drug den.
Upon inspection, the sacks were found to contain approximately 2.30 lakh Yaba tablets, with an estimated market value of Tk11.5 crore.
