Zahir Elected New FOBANA Chairperson, Pryalal Executive Secretary

Chhabed Sathee, from Los Angeles: The Federation of Bangladeshi Associations in North America (FOBANA) has announced its new Executive Committee for the 2026–27 term. Mohammad M. Rahman Zahir has been elected Chairperson, while Pryalal Karmakar has been elected Executive Secretary of the organization.

The election was held on Sunday, September 6, following FOBANA’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Hilton Hotel in Universal City, Los Angeles, California.

In the election, M. Rahman Zahir was elected Chairperson and Pryalal Karmakar was elected Executive Secretary for the one-year 2026–27 term.

Voting was conducted under the supervision of Chief Election Commissioner Mohammad Mahbub Reza Rahim. The Election Commissioner said the election was conducted smoothly and democratically in accordance with the organization’s established rules and procedures.

Attorney Mohammad Alamgir and Duke Khan assisted the Chief Election Commissioner in conducting the election.
