Noman Sabit: Consulate General of Bangladesh in New York joined the International Food Festival in New York. The International Food Festival 2022 was organized at the Turkey Consulate on the initiative of the Society of Foreign Consuls (SOFC) in New York on Thursday (October 13) local time. Apart from Bangladesh Consulate, Algeria, Angola, Argentina, Bulgaria, Georgia, India, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Panama, Peru, South Africa and Turkey consulates participated in the festival. More than four hundred guests including ambassadors, consul generals, diplomats, New York City immigration commissioners, regional deputy directors of foreign missions and selected government representatives of the United States participated in the festival.
In this festival traditional traditional and delicious food of Bangladesh is displayed and served.
The invited guests tasted the Bangladeshi food and found it distinctive in taste and aroma and of high quality. Also, the festival showcases various Bangladeshi products to highlight the heritage and culture of Bangladesh. In the future, through the participation of the Bangladesh Consulate in such festivals, efforts will continue to introduce and popularize Bangladeshi rich and diverse foods globally, said Consul General Dr. Mohammad Monirul Islam commented.
Note that SOFC traditionally celebrates the ‘International Food Festival’ in New York every year. This festival showcases the culture of different countries along with the display of food from different countries of the world. It is also mentioned that this festival has got a different dimension as it is being held for the first time this year after the last two years due to the corona epidemic.
