Four Bangladeshis won the US midterm elections

Noman Sabit: Four Bangladeshi candidates have been elected from different states in the US midterm elections. Mid-term elections were held in the United States on Tuesday (November 8) local time. A large number of Bangladeshi American citizens voted in it.

The four Bangladeshi winning candidates in the US midterm elections are Georgia State Senator Sheikh Rahman and Nabila Islam, Connecticut State Senator Md. Masudur Rahman and New Hampshire House of Representatives Abul Khan.

All 35 seats in the Senate, the upper house of the US Congress, and all 435 seats in the House of Representatives, the lower house, are up for grabs in the midterm elections. Elections are also held for governorships in 36 states and all state legislatures.

Bangladeshi American Sheikh Rahman was elected for the third time unopposed in the state of Georgia. Nabila Islam won the Georgia State Senate election for the first time, Connecticut State Senate won the first time Masudur Rahman. They all ran for the Democratic Party.

Meanwhile, Republican candidate Aboul Khan of Bangladeshi origin has won the post of New Hampshire House of Representatives for the fifth time in a row. Expatriate Bangladeshis are rejoicing over the victory of four Bangladeshi Americans.
