Noman Sabit: A Bangladeshi youth has been accused of threatening to kill his wife and her family after fleeing to Bangladesh for fear of arrest in the United States. Gourab Sanjari, a Bangladeshi youth on the ‘hand over’ list of the West Berlin police in the state of New Jersey, USA, continues to threaten to kill. 8 arrest warrants were issued by the New Jersey Superior Court against Gourab, who was arrested and bailed by the police on charges of wife torture. Fearing re-arrest by the police, Gourab fled to Bangladesh about a year ago.
He is making a fool of the media by making up terrible fictions besides threatening to kill his wife and her family in Bangladesh. He was also allegedly harassing police in West Berlin, New Jersey using an unknown (unnumbered) phone number.
Gourab Sanjari went to Bangladesh and raised various allegations of sexual harassment against his wife Kanika Majumdar and her family in various media including some private television. In the complaint, he was sexually assaulted by a human trafficking ring while he was with his wife in the United States. He was even forced into prostitution. At one stage, the gang demanded a large sum of money from the family in the country as ransom.
Regarding these allegations of Gourab Sanjari, his wife Kanika Majumder told this representative that sex work is completely prohibited in the United States. Also, during his stay in the United States, he never reported such allegations to the police or to me. Complaining on the contrary, Gourab’s wife said that Piles is telling the media of Bangladesh by showing X-ray and colonoscopy pictures of the operation. By doing this, Gourab has not only humiliated me and my family, but has also tarnished me. He claims that these statements of his are completely imaginary and have no similarity with reality.
Kanika Majumdar also said that 8 arrest warrants have been issued against her on November 16, 2023 from the Camden Superior Court of New Jersey (case number-22004455). Bangladesh has given shelter to a fugitive from the United States. On the run, he threatens to hire black men and kill the entire family in emails. As a result of his threats, I am spending days in fear with my entire family. I have made a written complaint to the local police department in this regard.
Kanika also said that Gourab Sanjari’s country house is on Jubilee Road in Chittagong. Father Shibu Seal is a businessman of hardware stores. He is absent from the hearing of the final order of the Camden County Family Court of the State of New Jersey against him, showing various excuses. As a result, the court issued an arrest warrant against him. In addition, 8 more arrest warrants were issued against Gourab on November 16, 2023, on various charges from the New Jersey Superior Court.
Gourab is currently a fugitive in the United States. A ‘Red Alert’ was issued for his arrest by the US Marshals Office and law enforcement agencies.
Gourab threatened Kanika’s family members, relatives and friends by calling him using different numbers every day. He is also using the name of National Security Agency of Bangladesh like DGFI, NSI while calling. Called and said ‘Hello, I am from DGFI, NSI office.’
Kanika expressed her grief and said that to humiliate my family Gourab’s father Shibu Seal filed a human trafficking case in the name of family members including me on January 9 this year. The allegations in this case are ridiculous. Although the case is under the Human Trafficking Act, sexual harassment has been alleged.
Gourab also threatened family members using his personal email. He is scaring my family members to file false cases using strangers’ phones. Threatening to kidnap relatives’ daughters.
Gourab-Kanika got married on 13 November 2019. According to the rules, Kanika’s husband Gourab Sanjari moved to America with an immigration visa. Married life was good for some time. After getting a Green card, the conflict started in the family.
On July 24, 2022, Kanika was beaten by Bed. Tried to strangle him by strangulation. Later family members came and saved her. Later had to be admitted to the hospital. Police arrested him after this incident. After two days, Gourab Sanjari was released from jail on bail. After staying in hiding for some time in New York, he escaped to Bangladesh.
