Staff Reporter: Airport authorities have been alerted to a court-issued ‘bench warrant’ against a Bangladeshi youth to prevent him from entering the United States. The order ordered that the young man named Gourab Sanjari should be arrested and handed over to the court if he tries to enter through any airport in the United States. On November 16, 2023, 8 arrest warrants were issued against Gourab Sanjari from the Camden Superior Court of New Jersey, USA.
New Jersey Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. Macaulay told this correspondent that the authorities of major airports in the United States have been informed to arrest Gourab Sanjari, the fugitive accused of 8 arrest warrants issued by the court. If he tries to enter the United States, he will be arrested there and brought to court. Warnings have been issued everywhere in this regard.
Lt. Ed Gramley, chief of detectives at the Berlin Township Police Department in New Jersey, told reporters that Gourab Sanjari lived with his wife in West Berlin, his jurisdiction. Before fleeing to the country, he attacked his wife and beat her several times, causing family turmoil. On July 24, 2022, Kanika was beaten by him. Tried to kill by suffocation by strangulation. The family members rescued him and admitted her to the hospital. Police in Berlin Township, New Jersey have several charges against him for these activities. The police arrested him after the latest incident. After two days, Gourab Sanjari was released from jail on bail.
Gourab’s wife Kanika Majumdar said that Gourab Sanjari is the son of Shibu Sheel, a resident of Jubilee Road, Chittagong. He fled to Bangladesh about 1 year ago after staying in hiding in New York for some time fearing re-arrest in the United States. From there, they are constantly threatening me and my family members. Gourab is also making false allegations of sexual harassment against our family in the media.
Kanika said, ‘Sexual harassment is prohibited in the United States. Also, he never told anything to the police, his lawyer, the court or even me during his stay in the US.’ She said, ‘Piles X-ray and colonoscopy operation pictures is showing and calling it sexual harassment in the media of Bangladesh. Gourab has not only humiliated me and my family by doing this, also tarnished me.’ He claimed that these statements of his are completely fictitious and have no similarity with reality.
On their way back to America in November 2018, Gourab-Konikar met on a transit (connecting) flight to New York at Kuwait International Airport. At that time Kanika Majumdar met Gourab and his mother Chobi Sheel in the boarding line. Then Gourab-Kanika got married on 13 November 2019. As per rules, Kanika’s husband Gourab Sanjari immigrated to America on his immigration visa. After the marriage, married life was going well for some time. After getting Gourab’s green card, strife started in the family. Gourab’s wife’s name is Kanika Majumdar’s country house in Hajipur of Charjaber in Noakhali district.
When I called Gourab Sanjari to inquire about this, he did not receive it. Even after sending a message, he did not reply.
